Water buses in Venice are a whole world - fast, rhythmic, slightly chaotic. And this pass lets you skip the ticket machine queues entirely. Choose your time slot, activate it on board a vaporetto or bus, and you can move between St. Mark"s Square, the Cannaregio canals, the Lido beach and the glass-making island of Murano without thinking about separate tickets for each piece of the city-mosaic. The transport card works in the so-called Greater Venice: that means not only the lagoon islands, but also the mainland districts of Mestre and Marghera with their ordinary city buses.

Pick any day to turn the voucher into a real ticket, no predetermined schedule binds you to a fixed start date. At the first validation inside a vaporetto or bus, the clock starts ticking - and the countdown runs for the number of hours you selected when booking, up to a full week. Each time you board water transport, tap the pass at the black validator, and keep it ready for the crew to check - standard practice. For those extra curious, the line includes the four main lagoon islands: Murano and its small cathedrals, the colourful fishermen houses on Burano, the pine forest on Lido, plus the quiet Torcello with its ancient church. One card does it all.

No unlimited rides? Yes, but within reason: the pass covers every urban vaporetto, the entire inner-lagoon network, plus mainland buses in Mestre and Marghera. The water route connecting its namesake passenger terminal Mario with the historic centre - that"s not included, and clearly neither are airport transfers nor the three airport-oriented Alilaguna special-lines. Some isolated routes, except for those shuttle-oriented services, remain outside the card. But for crossing the Grand Canal eight times a day, for commuting between the station square and deserted islands, the pass is both economical and noticeably liberating.
